Pauline Cicarella Giannattasio
Pauline Cicarella Giannattasio, 94, our most loving, selfless mom and grandmother passed away peacefully on Sept. 2 at Yale New Haven Hospital with her loving family by her side. It would have also been her 72nd wedding anniversary. Pauline was a lifelong New Haven resident was born on Feb. 16, 1928, to the late Immaculata (Villano) and Louis Cicarella. She was the beloved wife of the late Eli “Wimpy” Giannattasio with whom she met while working at his family-owned restaurant Bilfred’s Spa.
Pauline leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Laura Cucurello and Pamela Anderson both of East Haven; her five grandchildren, Paula Simone of East Haven, Christen (David) Quijano of North Haven, Laura (Michael) Pallone of East Haven, Ryan Anderson of North Carolina, and Kara Anderson of Virginia; along with her five great-grandchildren, Cade Simone of East Haven, Valentina and David Quijano of North Haven, Michael and Gianna Pallone of East Haven; as well as her brother, Anthony “ Sonny Boy” Cicarella of New Haven with whom she had a very special bond with; and many cherished nieces and nephews as well as her former son-in-law Steven Anderson. Pauline is preceded in death by her brother John Cicarella and son-in-law John Cucurello.
Pauline devoted her life to her family and was always there to lend an ear and give her spot on advice. Family gatherings were not complete without her mouthwatering cheesecake and anginetti cookies.
All services will be private and are in the care of Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven.
