Kathryn Massa Aurora, 97
Kathryn Massa Aurora, 97, of North Haven passed away peacefully on July 20 at the Whitney Rehabilitation Care Center, Hamden, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore Aurora.
Kathryn was born in New Haven on Nov. 17, 1924, the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Buonacore Massa. She had worked for the former Macy’s Department Store in New Haven and later for the former Price Club of North Haven. Kathryn was a member of the North Haven Senior Center, enjoyed cooking and baking, taking frequent trips to the casino, but most of all being with her family who she loved unconditionally.
Mother of Joanne Serio (Richard), James J. Aurora (Merrilee McFeaters), John A. Aurora (Rose), Kathy Mendillo (Michael), and the late Nicholas S. Aurora. Mother-in-law of Sheryl Lavey. Grandmother of Christopher Serio (Lisa), Nicholas S. Aurora, Jr. (Brooke), Joseph Aurora (fiancée Angela Pasquale), Gregory Aurora (Marissa), Michael Mendillo, Jr. (Emma), and John A. Aurora, Jr. Great-grandmother of Rosalia and Katarina Serio, and Mason and Roman Aurora. Sister of Joseph A. Massa and the late Anthony Massa, Louise Pazik, Anna Izzo, Mary Buonome, and Margaret Iannitti. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Predeceased by her sister-in-law Christine Massa.

The visiting hours were on July 23 at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven.
