07/21/2022 11:48 AMRonald B. “Ron” Cerrito of Branford, died July 14 at the Mary Wade Home in New Haven. Ronald was born in New Haven, Feb. 20, 1940, a son of the late Anthony and Marian Toro Cerrito.
He had been the owner and operator, along with his twin brother Robert, of Cerrito’s Furniture in Branford for many years until retirement in 2015. He had started in the furniture upholstery business working alongside his father at Elmwood Upholstery and held positions at Sealy Furniture Division and Castro Convertibles.
He was a former member of the Branford Yacht Club. Ron loved his house on the beach and his trips to Aruba.
He is survived by his sons: Christopher Cerrito of Wallingford, David Cerrito of Branford, Gary (Jennifer) Cerrito of Wallingford, Ronald J. (Debbie) Cerrito of Studio City, CA; and his grandchildren, Brandon and Cori. He was predeceased by his brothers, Michael and Robert Cerrito.
Visiting were on July 18 at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, with a funeral service on July 19 in the funeral home. Burial followed in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford. For directions and online memorial see www.wsclancy.com.
