07/14/2022 10:51 AMSusan Carol “Sue” Knoll, 82, of Guilford, beloved wife of Ronald Lee Knoll for 62 years, passed away unexpectedly of a heart condition on June 25. Sue is survived by her three children, Cindy Koch of Madison, Wisconsin; Lynda Cotter of Newton, Massachusetts, and Scott Knoll of Park City, Utah.
Sue was born and raised in Wausau, Wisconsin. After graduating from Wausau High School, she enrolled at the University of Wisconsin Wausau Extension. During this time, Sue met Ron Knoll at Salem Lutheran Church. Less than a year later, the two got married and started a family, marking the start of a long life together. Sue, Ron and their children lived in many different cities across the country, including Rib Mountain, Wisconsin; Los Angeles and San Francisco, California; Toledo, Ohio; Farmington Hills, Michigan; and then Guilford. Sue was an active member of the Lutheran churches, school organizations, and sports booster clubs in the communities in which she lived.
Sue lived a life full of love as an engaged and extremely supportive parent to her three children. Sue also loved to travel; and she was able to get to every continent, except Antarctica. She especially loved spending time at her timeshare locations at the Marriott Ocean Club in Aruba and at Old Key West at Walt Disney World.
Sue lived for her family, especially doting on her seven grandchildren: Justin, Kirsten, Lindsey, Natalie, Ian, Mia, and Addie. Sue was an extremely devoted and self-sacrificing grandmother, always making sure to attend all of their school events, games, recitals, and plays, as well as participating in their milestones and birthdays. Sue will be remembered for her sharp wit and sense of humor, as well as her warmth, friendliness, endless love and contagious smile.
