Diane (Simons) Fulton
Diane (Simons) Fulton, longtime resident of Guilford, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family on June 28 . She was the wife of Wilton (Bill) Fulton. Mrs. Fulton was born in Meriden on Sept. 28, 1947, daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth Simons. She was the loving mother of Eric M. Fulton and his wife Danielle of Madison, and W. Jason Fulton and his wife Jennifer of Guilford. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Erica, Darren and Lexi Fulton, and Haley, Carissa, Isabelle and James Fulton. She was the sister of Daniel Simons and his wife Candy and the late Elizabeth Frohlich.
Diane grew up in the Leetes Island area and loved to spend time there, clamming, swimming, horseback riding and boating. She attended Saint Anne’s Academy in Massachusetts, and Guilford High School. Diane earned her bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of New Haven and her master’s degree in computer science also from the University of New Haven. Before retirement, she was the senior program analyst for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. During her distinguished career, she helped develop the company’s program for Y2K.
She loved traveling and always planned out the perfect vacation of fun adventures and enjoying the cultural aspects of the areas we all visited. She enjoyed playing games and many activities with her grandchildren, along with reading, playing pinochle and sudoku.
Diane had the greatest devotion and love toward the whole family. She always put others first and helped whenever she could. She had a strong determination, and would not look for excuses to problems, but to try and find solutions. She will be missed by the many lives she touched. Diane was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She positively touched the lives of everyone she had ever encountered.
