07/14/2022 10:51 AMBeatrice Rathbone Dudley Fortin, longtime Madison resident, passed away peacefully on July 6. She was born on Jan. 27, 1923 in Meriden, to Alice Rathbone Dudley and Sherman Ives Dudley. She was predeceased by her husband, John Wellington Fortin in 1988.
She was the loving mother of Deirdra Wininger of Madison and Lynne Wilkinson of Plymouth, Massachusetts. She is also survived by grandchildren, Robin Whaley of Deep River, Jonathon “Jay” Wininger of Bridgton, Maine, Sarah Alessandro of Quincy, Massachusetts, Kate Wilkinson of Wellfleet, Massachusetts and several great and great-great-grandchildren.
Together with her late husband, Beatrice was a founding member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Madison and served the church in many capacities for many years. Before retirement Beatrice worked in the retail business, specializing in Interior Decoration. Her great love in life was her feline companions. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening, flower arranging, and home decorating.
