On Nov. 10, Richard Louis Loosemore passed away at the age of 92. Richard is survived by his wife Amanda Loosemore; his brothers, William and Kenny; his kids, Richard Louis, Jr. (Dawn), Cynthia, and Daniel Loosemore (Alisha) and Cheryl, Carol, John, and Kathleen; grandchildren, Richard Allen, Sarah, Alexandria, Krishnalall, Ryan, Austin, Dominick, Nathan, Hunter, Camden, Liberty, Zoya, Gemma, and Steel; and his great-grandchildren. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, great-grandnephews and great-grandnieces, and friends to many people, including James (Yvonne) and their children, Jasta, Haskal, and Brealand and Jame’s brother Almond.

Richard was born July 5, 1929, the son of the late William Louis Loosemore and Irena Mary Saltrus Loosemore.

Richard served in the Army from 1945 to 1952. He served during the Korean War as a mechanic and received a Medal of Honor for his service during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1952. He supported many organizations when he retired from Silgan Plastic where he worked for many years: Saint Jude’s, Wounded Warriors, local police, the Humane Society, Saint Joseph Indian School, and many others.

Richard enjoyed Christmas and painted his house red to look like Santa’s village and decorated his whole house inside and out with Christmas lights and decorations to make his house look like Santa’s land.

Richard was a great mechanic! He could fix most things in older cars. He was a great handyman and loved to make things, take things apart, fix them, and put them all back together again. He loved to draw pictures and sketch, build puzzles, play solitaire, and do word search puzzles.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services were held on Nov. 20 at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Middletown.
