Lucy Ann Saglio, 86, a life-long resident of Clinton. passed away Aug. 26, after a long illness. Lucy was born in New Britain on March 24, 1935. She graduated from The Morgan School and received her bachelor of science degree from Teacher’s College of Connecticut and her master of science degree from Central Connecticut State College.
Lucy spent most of her career as a teacher and speech pathologist with Regional School District 17 in Haddam- Killingworth where she retired after 35 years. Lucy was a long-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a communicant of St. Mary’s church as well as many other civic organizations throughout her time in Clinton.
She was predeceased by her parents, James and Josephine (Scalise) Saglio, and her brother, James Saglio, Jr. Lucy is survived by her sister-in-law Lois (Watrous) Saglio; nieces Barbara LaMark and her husband Tony and Louise (Saglio) Bowman and her husband Allen, great-nieces Angela (LaMark) Furgal and her husband Kevin and Ashley Bowman, and great-great-nieces Brooke and Jenna Furgal, as well several cousins.
Her funeral service was held Sept. 2, at St. Mary’s Church of the Visitation in Clinton. Visitation was prior to Mass. Burial followed the funeral service at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Clinton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
