Harry J. Coppola, Sr., of East Haven passed away peacefully at his home on July 16. He was the husband of Barbara Ginnetti Coppola. Harry was born in New Haven Sept. 13, 1938, to the late Joseph and Margaret Gambardella Coppola.
He worked for 22 years as a furnace technician for William Ginnetti and Son until retiring in 1982. He served his country in the National Guard.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Harry J. Coppola, Jr., of East Haven, and two daughters, Lisa (Les) Ross of Milford and Laura (Raymond) Halliday of North Haven. Harry was one of 14 children, leaving three brothers, Salvatore (Gloria) Coppola of Branford, Anthony (Phyllis) Coppola of East Haven, and James Coppola of West Haven, and four sisters, Mary LaFogg of Branford, Anna Papa of North Branford, Margaret Canna of New Haven, and Elizabeth Streeto of East Haven. He was predeceased by four brothers, Ralph, Joseph, John, and William Coppola, and two sisters, Rose D’Amato and Helen Lickteig. He also leaves five grandchildren, Anthony and Michael Toscano and Danielle, Donald “D.J.” and Nicholas DiBianco, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Burial services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The East Haven Memorial Longobardi–Brennan Funeral Home, 425 Main Street, East Haven is in charge of arrangements.
