Diana Castelli passed away peacefully surrounded by her family where she was reunited with her husband James Castelli. Diana “Grr” was born and raised in Centerbrook to Zigmund and Susan Dolanski. She met her sweetheart Jim “Vava,” and for 58 years they built a life full of family and love. Together they ran and operated Liberty Bus and touched the lives of so many.
Grr could most often be found in her flower gardens or sitting on the beach with the sand in her toes. She was passionate about her family and loved to talk about her kids, grandkids, and great-grandchildren.
She leaves behind her daughter Sharon Castelli and wife Michelle Taylor, her son James Castelli and wife Patricia, granddaughter Emma and Michael Urbina, granddaughter Katie and Stephen Daspit, grandson Michael Castelli and Paige Chighine, sister Susan and husband David Traskos, and many nieces and nephews. Grr’s pride and joy were her great-grandkids, Marlen, Enzo, and Harper, whom she also leaves behind.
All who knew Diana know that she loved and cared with a fierce passion. She will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her. Due to the current pandemic, a private Mass and Christian burial will be held for Diana and Jim.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked to consider a donation to the Chrysalis Center in Hartford, 255 Homestead Avenue, Hartford, CT 06112.
