John Michael Grillo, 76, longtime resident of Guilford and the beloved husband of Carole Grillo, passed peacefully on July 29, with his family by his side. He also leaves his daughters, Marissa Grillo of Guilford, Laurie Tomanio of Milford, Kimberly Celotto of West Haven, and Kim Delvecchio of North Haven. He also leaves a brother George Grillo of Omaha, Nebraska, three grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, two nieces, and two nephews.
He was a plant manager for Blakeslee Arpaia Chapman and an employee of Anthony’s of Guilford and owned a landscaping company. John served as a medic in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Smilow/Yale New Haven Hospital for the care that was given to him.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug, 5, at St. George Church, Guilford. Burial will be private.
