07/21/2021 12:00 AMMeighan Brady Davis of Millsboro, Delaware, formerly of Clinton, passed away on June 14, after a long illness, with her husband and parents at her bedside. Meighan was born in New Haven on Sept. 29, 1976, to Dr. Thomas and Margaret Brady.
After attending The Morgan School in Clinton, she went to the University of Delaware where she received her bachelor’s degree in animal science with a minor in medieval studies and continued to achieve a master’s degree in animal science.
While at UDEL, Meighan was a member of Alpha Zeta Honors Fraternity and served as captain of the Equestrian Team. Upon graduation she worked for Intervet, later Merck, in clinical research. She also worked as a horse trainer and riding instructor.
Besides her parents, she leaves her husband David and three sisters, Maureen Keyworth and husband Tim, Becca Goberman and husband Dan, and Andrea Persoglia of Argentina, her AFS sister since 1989; three beloved nieces, Addison Keyworth and Cayleigh and Mira Goberman; two uncles; one aunt; several cousins; and also rescue dogs Rosie and Honey Bear.
Those who knew Meighan will remember her big smile, dry sense of humor, and determination. One of her big priorities was care and concern for the less fortunate, both people and animals.
Besides her family, she loved horseback riding, traveling to Ireland, camping in the Shenandoah with Dave and her late rescue dog Daisy, and beaches.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7, at St. Mary Church of the Visitation in Clinton. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to pit bull rescue of Delaware, rescueme.org or HORSE of CT, Washington, CT. Think of Meighan as riding on a beach in Ireland with family, friends, and, of course, dogs.
