Nathaniel James “Nate” Etzel, 38, of Madison passed away unexpectedly on June 21, after a motor vehicle accident in Guilford. Nate was born in San Jose, California, was a graduate of Daniel Hand High School, and attended the University of San Francisco.
Nate is survived by his loving parents, Simon Etzel and Jennifer Farmer-Etzel; his dear brothers, Simon Etzel and Douglas Farmer; and brothers-in-law Scott Cyr and Michael Clifford; his adoring sisters, Shannon Etzel Clifford, Johanna Fitzgerald and Deborah Farmer; and sister-in-law Christine Kelly and was cherished by his nieces and nephews, Dylan, Doug, Alex, Jack, Miles, and Oliver, along with countless treasured friends.
Nate was known for his extraordinary energy, larger-than-life personality, and enormous heart. He was passionate about music, art, hiking, and landscaping and had a special connection with dogs. Nate was the first to volunteer to help anyone in his life. His love and care for his family and friends knew no bounds.
There are no words to describe how much Nate will be missed. May he finally return to his beloved mother Elizabeth “Beth” Etzel, who passed away in 1995 when Nate was 12 years old.
