Grant Lewis Berger, Jr., of Stony Creek died at Connecticut Hospice in Branford on May 19.

He was the father of Lisa Martin (Richard Godsey) of Appomattox, Virginia. He was predeceased by his wife Helen Civco Berger and his son Grant Berger III. Grant was born in Syracuse, New York on Feb. 18, 1926, a son of the late Grant and Hannah Dudley Berger.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II. For many years he worked in the Building Services Department of Yale New Haven Hospital. He also worked in the personnel department for MIF in Branford. He had resided in Stony Creek since 1981, after having lived in Guilford for many years.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 21 at the Stony Creek Congregational Church. Burial will be private. The W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford is in care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stony Creek Congregational Church, 192 Thimble Island Road, Branford, CT 06405.
