Marie (Titta) Walker, 89, longtime resident of Madison and most recently Guilford, passed away with family by her side at Yale New Haven Hospital on March 1. She was surrounded by love and knew she will be missed. She was the devoted wife of the late Charles R. Walker, Jr., married for 60 years until his passing in 2014. Marie was born in Derby on Dec. 26, 1931, daughter of the late Anthony Titta and Mrs. Elizabeth (Merenda) Titta.

Marie leaves three daughters, Dianne Tucker of Guilford, Charlotte Forst and her husband Joseph of 33 years of Chester, and Elaine Walker Kane and her husband John Patrick of 26 years of Ivoryton. She is also predeceased by son Stephen Charles Walker.

Marie is also survived by five grandchildren, Elyse Griswold, Chad Tucker, Benjamin and Mary Forst, and Maxfield Kane, and her great-grandchildren Teresa, Keira, Blazye, and Camryn Griswold. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Marie is predeceased by her brothers Philip, Michael, William, and Sam Titta, as well as her step siblings Joseph, Pasquale, Samuel, Louis, and Dominic Merenda and Teresa (Merenda) DeFilippo, Adeline (Merenda) D’Angelo, and Jennie (Merenda) Bennard.

Marie was a lifelong homemaker, at times working in retail and doing volunteer work for church and community. She was an active parishioner her entire lifetime. Marie was a competitive game player and enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening, time on her computer, and cherished family and friends.

Burial services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, 301 State St, # 200, Guilford, CT 06437.
