Pamela Witham-Wollock, born in Winthrop, Massachusetts in June of 1943, passed away peacefully Jan. 14 in Middlesex Hospital, with her daughter and granddaughter by her side. Her husband Edward “Eddie” S. Wollock, Jr., predeceased her in October 2011.
Pamela was a lovely person, an avid gardener, homemaker, and animal lover. Loving retirement in her log cabin in the woods that she and Eddie built in 1994, she enjoyed reading, working outside in the yard, and cruising around the property with her granddaughters on the golf cart. She was a strong woman when it came to adversity, often calling herself “a tough little Swede” and loved a good “laugh ’til you cried,” funny, and who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Pamela leaves behind a daughter, Dawn Kazimir; granddaughters Hope Kazimir and Hannah DeCaro of Pine Bush, New York; a stepdaughter, Sophie Wollock-Marsh and her husband Geoffrey Marsh; step-granddaughters, Allison and Amanda Marsh of Old Lyme; a brother, Harry L. Witham III and his wife Peg of East Lyme; nieces Leslie Witham-Phaneuf and Amy Witham-Johnston of Old Lyme; a brother and sister-in-law, Stanley P. and Diane Wollock of Deep River; sister-in-law Annie Twarowski of Killingworth; and Eddie’s cousin Stanley Stopa of Ivoryton, along with close friends and her two black kittens.
With the winter weather and COVID-19 restrictions, Pamela will be laid to rest with her husband in Fountain Hill Cemetery and a celebration of life gathering will be held sometime in the spring. An announcement will be made with date and time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Pamela’s name to Deep River Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 274, Deep River, CT 06417 or any local animal shelter.
