On Dec. 21, 2020, Jeanne A. Kazzi left to follow the beautiful Christmas star, on her way to heaven, and her eternal rest. She passed away from bacterial pneumonia at Yale New Haven Hospital with her husband Jeff by her side, holding her hand.
Jeanne was born in New Haven May 12, 1948, and raised by her adoptive parents, Shirley and Raymond Hamilton. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant at the Yale University School of Music. She retired in 2017. Jeff and Jeanne attended many NASCAR races together, and Jeanne was an avid sports fan. Among her favorite teams were the Oakland A’s and San Jose Sharks. She and Jeff also enjoyed camping at Hidden Acres Campground in Preston. And Jeanne also enjoyed her Saturdays with grandson Matt, baking, and playing computer games.
She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Kazzi, Sr., who was her best friend, soulmate, and camping buddy. She is also survived by her mother, Shirley Hamilton of East Haven; her daughter Leanne Hay; her son Kevin (Anna) Hay; and grandson, Aaron, all of California. She also leaves her stepdaughter Amanda (Dale) Smith, stepson Jeffrey (Christine) Kazzi, Jr., and grandson Matthew Kazzi of Branford. Included in her surviving relatives are her brother, Ernie (Joanne) Ludwig of Cheshire and the many cousins and friends for whom she cared deeply. She was predeceased by her sister Sharon Hamilton Esposito and her father, Raymond Hamilton.
There are no calling hours or services planned. There will be a celebration of her life in the spring. For online memorial and guestbook, see www.wsclancy.com.
