Margaret “Maggie” Malone, 63 of Branford passed away Dec. 12 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born Nov. 2, 1957, in New Haven to the late James and Gleneida (Sanderson) Malone.
Margaret is survived by her siblings Gleneida Motzko of Ledyard, James Malone (Lynne) of Guilford, and Cathy Saville (Richard) of Branford, along with five nieces/nephew whom she adored, Donald Motzko (Jessica), Shauna Onofrey (Kurt), Megan Granato (Matthew), Melissa Gouvia (Jose), and Christa Trudeau (Eric). She is also survived by great-nieces/nephews, Connor and Ava Motzko, Stephen and Penelope Onofrey, Garrett Granato, and Emma and Camden Trudeau.
Maggie had a special and rare love of life. Her joyful laughter often heard filling the room. After working 40 years in electronic sales, she began to travel the world with family and friends, one of her many true passions. Maggie’s embrace of her Irish heritage regularly brought her back to Ireland with her family. Maggie fought a courageous battle with cancer, never losing hope and always displaying strength. She was extraordinarily loyal and devoted to friend and family alike, as well as to her two feline companions, Finn and Reilly. Maggie was loving and compassionate, and she will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
Her family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Yale New Haven Hospital for their care and compassion.
A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vincent de Paul Church, East Haven and Burial at East Lawn Cemetery will be at a future date. Funeral services are under the care of the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Avenue, East Haven.
