Christopher George Kornatz, age 64, of Madison passed away gently and peacefully at his home on Oct. 20. Chris was born on Dec. 31, 1954, in New Haven to the late George and Barbara (Bristol) Kornatz.
Chris was an avid fisherman and reader, had a passion for music, and loved cars. He shared that love of cars with his oldest son Brian. Afternoons spent playing guitar or fly fishing are among favorite memories with his son, Christopher. He could also teach himself to make or fix almost anything, passing many of these traits down to both of his sons. Chris also enjoyed the times spent with his grandson. Otto was a bright light in his life and always made him smile. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Chris is predeceased by his sister Susan. He is survived by his two sons, Brian Kornatz of Clinton and Christoper Kornatz and his wife Ruth of Clinton and their son, his only grandchild, Otto Kornatz. He is also survived by his girlfriend Heidi Hilinski of Madison; his brothers and sisters Steven Kornatz (Linda) of Rhode Island, Gary Kornatz (Tracy) of Florida, Kimberly White (Tom) of Clinton, and Andrea Selmer (Jay) of Higganum; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, Jan. 9 at The Highliner in Westbrook at 5 p.m. for family and friends
