Jim Nash, 82, died Aug. 25 in Essex. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan during the Korean War.
Jim loved sailing and met his wife, Liz, at the Michigan City Yacht Club in Michigan City, Indiana. They were married for 59 years and sailed together in the U.S.—Lake Michigan, Long Island Sound, and coastal Maine up to Canada—and internationally—Bermuda, Majorca, Peru, and from the British Virgin Islands to Guadeloupe.
Jim and his wife, who died last year on Oct. 9, are survived by two daughters, Alison Nash of Essex and Beth Nash of Brooklyn, New York. A celebration of Jim’s life is planned for Saturday, Sept. 14 at 4 p.m. at the Essex Corinthian Yacht Club.
