On Easter Sunday April 21 Darlene F. Doyle of Killingworth, and a longtime resident of Guilford, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Darlene was born in New Haven on Jan. 13, 1948, and was the daughter of Ruth Taylor and the late Ray Clinton. She was the loving and devout mother of Jason Doyle and his wife Elizabeth of Easton.
Darlene moved to Killingworth in 2009 to be with her loving sister Sharon and brother-in-law Richard Cruz. They had an incredible bond. She loved her nieces and nephews like her own children, Broden (Christine), Brandt (Nicole), Trevor (Jen), Abbey (Kevin), Taylor, and their respective and adoring children who were very special in her extra big heart. Her dear sisters (“Amazon” Pam and Linda) were gained when her father remarried.
She began her career with the US Marshall Service, then joined the US Post Office. Darlene was incredibly generous and thoughtful, always putting others before herself. She had incredible love and compassion for animals and their welfare.
Calling hours will be held on April 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford. Funeral services will be held on April 26 at 11 a.m. in North Guilford Congregational Church, 159 Ledge Hill Rd., Guilford. Burial will follow in North Guilford Cemetery.
