John (Jack) Frederick Lynch, 95, of Marstons Mills, Massachusetts, and formerly of Guilford, died peacefully on Jan. 4, surrounded by his family at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich, Massachusetts.
A native of Auburn, New York, Jack was a graduate of Holy Family High School, class of 1941. He graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in accounting and business administration in 1950. A US Army veteran of WWII, he served in France, Belgium, Luxemburg, and Germany. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star. Jack was a financial administrator in many capacities while working for Sylvania Electric, Montgomery Ward, and Grace Homes. He retired in 1986 from C.J. Bates, a division of Coats and Clark, as the vice president of finance.
An important part of his life was the Catholic Church. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, Parish Council, Financial Affairs, trustee, Rosary Society, Legion of Mary, CCD teacher, lector, minister of the Eucharist, and Eucharistic Adoration.
Jack was the husband of the late Jean E. (Coughlin) Lynch. They were married in 1947 and were married for 56 years. He is survived by his five children, Michael (Lynn) Lynch of Westbrook, Maine, Pat Daunic of Branford, Kevin Lynch of Manila, Philippines, Molly (Colman) Fahey of Madison, and Meg (Bob) Johnson of Sparta, New Jersey. He was predeceased by his sister Betty Ruggles of Zephyr Hills, Florida. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Shawn and Scott Lynch, Colie and Patrick Fahey, Tim and Emily Johnson, and Danielle Lynch.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Jan. 11 at Corpus Christi Parish, 324 Quaker Meetinghouse Rd., East Sandwich, Massachusetts. Visiting hours will be 3 to 6 p.m. Jan. 10 at the John Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd. (Rte. 28), Marstons Mills. Burial will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Massachusetts.
