Eleanor Fielding Eadie, 98, widow of Charles W. Edgar and Edward M. Eadie since 1969. of Madison, passed away on June 11. El was born on Dec. 3, 1919, in Paterson, New Jersey, to the late Frederick and Evelyn Bartle Fielding. Previously residing in Westfield, New Jersey, and Topsfield, Massachusetts, she attended Hackensack Hospital, where she graduated with an RN. El volunteered with the Bloodmobile, Scranton Library, and Meals-on-Wheels. She enjoyed square dancing, crafting, and spent most of her time gardening and painting. El will be most remembered for her quick wit, one liners, and her sparkling blue eyes.
She is survived and will be dearly missed by a daughter, Dr. Cheryl Edgar Holdren and her husband Dr. John Holdren of Falmouth, Massachusetts; a son, Ed Eadie and his wife Lorie Mertins Eadie of Clinton; a sister, Emily Fielding of Branford; five grandchildren, J. Craig Holdren, Jill Holdren, Catherine Eadie Harris, Shauna Eadie Pendleton, and Christa Eadie Lewis; and nine great-grandchildren.
