Holly is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Tom King; her children Joshua King and his wife Jessica King of New York City, Jordan King of Washington, D.C., Jeremy King of Old Saybrook, and Kirsten King of Old Saybrook; her parents Lynn and Rocky Rocken-Styre of Old Saybrook; and her dog Taz. Holly is also survived by her sisters-in-law Debby King of Chester and Kathy King of Old Saybrook; along with her brother-in-law Paul King and his wife Liz King of Red Bluff, California. Additionally, Holly is survived by nieces Allison Clark and Jillian Noyes; and nephews Shawn Drag, Johnathon Noyes, and Brian Noyes.
Holly graduated from Bentley College with a B.S, degree in computer science, and after a brief career, made the decision to stay home to raise her family, which became her life’s passion. Over the past two years, Holly went back to work in the chemistry department at Wesleyan University. Holly was very active as a volunteer in the Old Saybrook school system, as well as being a member of the board of education for the past eight years.
Holly loved the beach, vacations with her family, spending time with her friends, holidays, skiing, dinners out, and her bunnies. Her compassion, beauty, love, kindness, piercing blue eyes, and engaging personality will be sorely missed, but she will forever be in our hearts.
Family and friends are invited to attend a burial service for Holly on Saturday, May 26 at 11:30 a.m. at the Cypress Cemetery, 100 College St., Saybrook Point, in Old Saybrook. A memorial service was held on April 19 at the Old Saybrook Congregational Church.
The family would like to thank all of our friends, family, and the Old Saybrook community for all of your support throughout this difficult time.
