03/06/2018 11:00 PMAudrey C. Taber, 88, of Deep River passed away on March 4. She was the beloved wife of the late Clifford E. Taber who predeceased her on Feb. 24, 2010. Audrey was born in Windsor on Jan. 15, 1930, the daughter of Irving and Beatrice (Waterman) Clark. Audrey married Clifford in Deep River on Sept. 30, 1950 and had been a resident of Deep River since 1955.
She was a member of The First Congregational Church of Deep River and for 26 years served as the church secretary retiring in 2008. She was a life member of the Pattaconk Yacht Club, a member of the Deep River VFW Ladies Auxiliary, a former member of the Deep River Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a former board member of The Deep River Visiting Nurses Association, and served as a Girl Scout leader in Deep River.
Audrey leaves her son Thomas C. Taber and his wife Donna of Deep River; her daughter Nancy Kirkham and her husband Geoffrey of Amston; and her grandchildren Lisa Massicotte and her husband Todd, Michael Pomprowicz and his wife Tara, Stacey Durden and her husband Jeffrey, Heather Murphy and her husband Justin, Brian Taber and his wife Betsey, and Karen Esposito and her husband Joshua. She also leaves her great-grandchildren Cameron, Tommy, and Michael Massicotte; Caitlin, Amelia, and Jillian Murphy; Maren and Teagan Taber; Ila Durden; Avery and Jake Pomprowicz ;and Ethan and Haddie Esposito.
The family would like to thank the staff at Aaron Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for all of the care and compassion it provided to Audrey. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 11 at 2 p.m. at The First Congregational Church of Deep River, 1 Church Street in Deep River. A family held committal service will be conducted in the Fountain Hill Cemetery in Deep River.
