Grace R. (Adametz) Smith, 93, of Killingworth, wife of the late Leroy Smith, died Jan. 29 at Essex Meadows. She was born in Middletown, daughter of the late Jeremiah and Rose (Mazanek) Adametz.

Grace was employed as a secretary for the State of Connecticut. During her life, Grace enjoyed watching wildlife, especially the birds she fed year-round. She was also active in her church, St. James, in Higganum.

Grace is survived by her brother Fred Adametz and wife Winifred, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Leroy; brothers Walter, Joseph, and Jeremiah Adametz; and sisters Violet Harvey-Gonser and Mildred Adametz.

A memorial service will be held Feb. 24 at 11:00 a.m., St. James Church, 501 Rte. 81, Higganum. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Evergreen Cemetery.
