Donald Frank Correll, 91, of Westbrook passed away on Jan. 27. He was the widower of Barbara (Donovan) Correll. He was born on July 17, 1926, in Hartford, the son of Howard and Grace (Larson) Correll.
Mr. Correll graduated from William Hall High School in West Hartford, class of 1944. He went on to serve in the US Navy from 1944 to 1946 as an air crewman. Following his military service, he attended the University of Connecticut School of Engineering. He worked primarily in the construction industry as a project manager estimator. He served as executive vice president of ACMAT Corporation until resigning in 1971. From 1972 to 1974 he served as vice president of A.F. Peaslee Corporation. He served as vice president of William Maddox Construction in Stuart, Florida, until he retired in 1985. Donald was a avid golfer and was a past member of Wethersfield and Clinton Country Clubs, and Chanticlair Golf Club.
Mr. Correll is survived by his daughters Donna Brodeur and her husband Ed of Niantic, Gwenn C. Chrisholm and her husband Steve of Waterford, Vermont, and Janice Kinder and her husband Dave of Niantic; siblings Nancy Correll of Florida, and Betty Correll of North Carolina; his longtime companion Elizabeth Rae of Westbrook; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brother Russell Correll.
