Martha Senetcen Odaynik of North Haven passed away after a brief illness at Yale-New Haven Hospital on Dec. 2. She was 90 years old and lived a wonderful and full life. She was born in Terryville on Sept. 14, 1927, to the late Ellen and Fred Senetcen, and moved to New Haven in 1949 when she married her late husband, Ivan "Avon" Odaynik. She lived in North Haven since 1956.
She was employed at International Silver Plastics Division in Wallingford for many years. Martha loved to crochet, knit, and do puzzles, and always showed a sunny disposition to everyone that knew her. She enjoyed taking care of her Christmas cactus and orchid plants.
She is survived by her devoted children Linda Odaynik of North Haven, Suzanne Odaynik of Southbury, Martha Lee (Odaynik) and her husband Richard Asarisi of Bethany, John and his wife Julie of Zebulon, North Carolina, Tina (Odaynik) and her husband Vincent Montano of Guilford, and Timothy Odaynik of New Haven. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Krysta (Odaynik) Murray and her husband Caleb of Rota, Spain, Kyle Odaynik and his wife Jessica of Griswald, and Natalie Asarisi of Bethany. She leaves behind her great-grandson Oliver Murray of Rota, Spain, and many nieces, nephews, and friends as well. She is also survived by her sister Olga Barlow of Blandford, Massachusetts, and Ann Schultz of Terryville. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Ivan "Avon" Odaynik, her granddaughter Christina Asarisi, and many brothers and sisters.

Her funeral procession left the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Dec. 7. Services were conducted in Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church. Interment followed in North Haven Center Cemetery. The visiting hours were Dec. 6. The Panikhida service took place during this time.
