Gladys Lopez, 79, of East Haven passed away peacefully at her home on Nov. 30, 2017. She was born July 24, 1938, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to Manuel “Lico” and Gertrude (Lee) Frometa.
Gladys is survived by her four loving children, Alma Lopez of East Haven; Maximo Lopez, Jr., (widower of Dawn Glasso), North Branford; Diane Lopez-Morgillo (Joseph) of East Haven; and Sallyann Lopez of Peabody, Massachusetts. Gladys is also survived by two grandchildren, Alia Lumpkin and Meredith Devaney-Wagner (Greg); and one great-granddaughter, Danika Wagner. Gladys is a sister of Olga “Lili” Frometa of Chicago, Joe Frometa of Dominican Republic, and Margarita Frometa of Dominican Republic. Gladys is preceded in death by her parents, brother Manuel Frometa, and a sister, Virginia Frometa-DelHomme.
Known for her special humor and candor, Gladys loved spending time with her family, and was a beacon in times of trouble. She will be dearly missed
The family received friends until the time of service on Dec. 5 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial was private.
