Marilyn R. Barretta, longtime resident of Guilford, passed away peacefully Nov. 18 at Apple Rehab in Guilford. She was the beloved wife of 63 years to Jerome F. Barretta. Mrs. Barretta was born in Woodbridge on Aug. 10, 1932, daughter of the late Vincenzo and Maddelina Monterosso Carrubba.
Mrs. Barretta was a talented artist and attended the Whitney Art School. She was a longtime communicant of St. George Church and a member of the St. George Georgettes. She was a gifted cook and enjoyed cooking for family and friends; she also enjoyed bingo.
She was the mother of Gerilyn Barretta, Cynthia Seward, James Barretta, Susan Barretta, and the late Jerome F. Barretta, Jr. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Michael, Anthony, Willie, Kimberly, Brittany, and Heather; and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings Angelina, Salvatore, Jennie, Mary, Stella, and Anna.

Friends were invited to calling hours Nov. 21 at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St., Guilford, on Nov. 22. Burial followed in St. George Cemetery, Hubbard Road, Guilford.
