Dorothy Elizabeth Bedle, 93, passed away Sept. 8. She was born Oct. 8, 1923, in a town called Home, Kansas, to Clyde and Elizabeth Jones.
Dorothy enjoyed many crafts, including crochet and quilting in addition to gardening and golf. She liked to reminisce about growing up on a farm in rural Kansas and her time spent as a nurse in the military based in Burtonwood, England. In her later years she traveled overseas with her husband Craig and had fond memories of their many trips together. Dorothy spent the last 15 years of her long life at Chester Village West in Chester.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Craig. She leaves behind daughters Kim Robey (Peter) of Clinton and New York City, and Lynn MacPartland (Peter) of Branford; grandson Michael Robey of Boston, Massachusetts; a sister, Mary Lou Hanley of Renton, Washington; as well as her devoted caregiver Tenesia Price of Woodbridge.
The family would like to thank the staff at Chester Village West for their kindness and caring throughout the years.
Interment at Arlington Cemetery is planned and a family gathering of celebration will be held at a later date.
