June F. Brown, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Sept. 4 at the Eddy Village Green in Cohoes, New York, at age 80. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Born and raised in Norwalk, June was a resident of Guilford and nearby Madison for more than 40 years. A gifted athlete and lifetime Yankee fan, she was a sports fanatic who loved competing. June was always up for a tennis match, a game of horseshoes, pinochle, or in later years, bridge. A former florist, she could often be found reading a good book in her small hidden garden in the woods, while enjoying the first blooms of spring.
June was predeceased by her loving husband Ralph Brown and by her sister Linda Rogers. She is survived by sons N. Jack (Audrey) Townsend of West Hills, California, Scott K. Townsend of Delmar, New York, and sister Judith (John) Giuliano of Appomattox, Virginia. She is also survived by grandchildren Emma, Mackenzie, and Alexander.
Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 30, 11 a.m. graveside at the West Side Cemetery, 42 Three Mile Course, Guilford, CT 06437.
