James M. “Jim” Daly, 80, of North Haven, beloved husband of Gloria Riccitelli Daly, passed away on Aug. 31 in the Regency House of Wallingford. Jim was born in Hartford on July 19, 1937, son of the late Thomas and Alice Morgan Daly.
He was the loving father of James M. Daly II of New Haven, Christopher Daly of Wethersfield, and the late Michael Daly. He was the stepfather of Gloria (Cary) Ostrow of Southbury, and Maryann (Carl) Tooker, and Eleanor Casale, all of Stamford. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Robert Daly of Pinellas, Florida, and the late Thomas and Ernest Daly.
Prior to his retirement in 1994, Jim was the owner of EBM Incorporated. Jim was also a Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the Wallingford Country Club. Jim was a proud father, a hard working, larger-than-life man with a generous heart and contagious smile. He loved his family and his country. Jim was a true American success story.
His funeral procession left the Porto Funeral Home, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven, Sept. 6. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Therese Church (North Haven) at 10:00 a.m. Interment with military honors followed in All Saints Cemetery. Friends called Sept. 5.
