Sandra Quarequio, 71, of New Haven passed away Aug. 30 following a sudden illness. Sandra was born Sept. 11, 1945, in New Haven to Frank and Catherine (Fuggi) Parrett.
Sandra is survived by two sons, Ralph and Ricky Quarequio, and Ricky’s Wife, Diana, whom Sandra considered her daughter; a granddaughter, Larissa Quarequio; and a great-grandchild. Sandra is also survived by seven siblings, Frank “Juni” Parrett, Jr., Dolores Brandi, Robert Parrett (Anita), Charles Parrett (Betty), Thomas Parrett (Jeanette), Joseph Parrett (Ellen), and Edward Parrette (Carmel); along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard Quarequio (2012); and sister Judith Fanelli.
Sandra worked as a seamstress for Resse, specializing in the making of silk ties. She later worked for Echlin Corporation until the time of their relocation. Sandra was also an ardent dog lover, and an active member of both the Humane Society and ASPCA. She kept many dogs throughout her life. The last of these was Macleoud of the Highlands, a Cairn terrier.
The family received friends on Sept. 5 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven.
