Helen R. Handy of West Haven, formerly of Guilford, passed away peacefully at Connecticut Hospice, Branford, on June 21. Helen was predeceased by her husband James E. Handy, Sr., and her son James E. Handy, Jr. She was born in Derby on Aug. 21, 1929, daughter of the late Edward and Helen Croslear Rice.

She is the sister of Ronald Rice of New Haven and Edward Rice of Florida, the late Mary Anne Gibbs, and the late Ethel Robison.
