Maria B. Uribe Olmeda, 85, of North Haven passed away peacefully on April 30 at her home with her family by her side. Maria was born in Quindio, Colombia, on Dec. 14, 1931, daughter of the late Carlos and Sofia Holguin Uribe.

She worked as a seamstress for the former Robby Len Fashions until her retirement.

She was the mother of Jairo H. Uribe, Sr., Janine A. Martinez, and Beatriz O. Uribe. She was the grandmother of Nestor M. Rey, Jairo H. Uribe, Jr., and Jailynne and Iyona Woods. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on May 20 at 3:00 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2 Baldwin Dr., Branford. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Ste. 4B, Southington, CT 06489, or the American Diabetes Association, 2080 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
