03/16/2017 12:00 AMSarah Malerba Malazzi, 97, of Evergreen Woods, North Branford, beloved wife of the late Salvatore A. Malazzi, passed away on March 10 at her home. Sarah was born in New Haven on Oct. 16, 1919, daughter of the late Rocco and Martha Callipo Malerba.
She was the loving mother of Roberta (Charles) Valentino of New York and David (Phyllis) Malazzi of Clinton; and the grandmother of Jeffrey Valentino and his fiancée Jodi Zalewski, Scott (Aubree) Valentino, Mark (Jennifer Rollins) Valentino, Jonathan (Rebecca) Malazzi, and Andrew (Nicole) Malazzi. She was the great-grandmother of Luke, Carter, Gracie, Emilia, and Sophia Valentino, and Alexa and Kyle Malazzi; and the sister of the late Catherine Nuzzo, Martha Arancio, and Joseph, James, Rocco, and Frank Malerba.
Her funeral procession will leave the Porto Funeral Home, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven, March 20 at 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
