Stanley F. Sobol, 96, of East Haven, beloved husband of Josephine DePetto Sobol, passed away on March 6 in Yale-New Haven Hospital. Stanley was born in Ansonia on Dec. 24, 1920, son of the late James and Anna Stanislawczyk Sobol.
Prior to his retirement Stanley was a factory worker for the B.F. Goodrich Sponge Rubber Company and Cable Waves. Stanley was also a WWII Navy veteran.
He was the loving stepfather of Joyce (Anthony J. Klimas, Jr.) Morrissey of West Haven; Barbara Giordano of Branford; Donna (Robert Grosberg) Milano of West Haven; Patricia Dostie of East Haven; and the late Peter Juliano. He is also survived by 11 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Sophie Muskavitch of Ansonia and the late Mary Corbett and Nellie Chesiak. He was the uncle of Michael Corbett and the great-uncle of Lisa Watson.
His funeral procession will leave the Porto Funeral Home, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven, March 11 at 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
