Elaine Salerno Salvati, 74, of East Haven, passed away on Feb. 24 in Yale-New Haven Hospital. Elaine was born in New Haven on Nov. 20, 1942, daughter of the late Albert and Lena Caruso Salerno.

Prior to her retirement Elaine was a supervisor for the Department of Motor Vehicles.

She was the beloved mother of Tara L. Salvati and James G. Salvati, both of East Haven; and the sister of Albert (Rosemarie) Salerno of North Haven.

Her funeral procession left the Porto Funeral Home, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven, on Feb. 28. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in Our Lady of Pompeii Church. Interment followed in All Saints Cemetery. Friends called Feb. 27. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
