Kenneth Melvin Link, Sr., 79, of Guilford, formerly of New Haven, passed away peacefully Jan. 7 at Yale-New Haven Hospital surrounded by his wife and children. Ken was the beloved husband and best friend of Diane Woods Link. He was born July 4, 1937, in New Haven, the son of the late Raymond G. Link, Sr., and Dorothy Mack Link.
Ken was a proud US Army veteran. Prior to retirement he worked as a purchasing agent for Continental Lumber and West Haven Lumber for 60 years. He was an avid New York Giants fan, loved fishing, golf, and his family, and was a master of the grill! Ken was a true family man who lived his life for his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will never truly be gone because he will live in our hearts forever!
He was the loving father of Cynthia, wife of Ralph Tangredi, Jr., of Wallingford; Kathleen, wife of Michael Aldrich of Cheshire; Kenneth Link, Jr., husband of Carri of South Meriden; and Rebecca, wife of Mauricio Patino of Guilford. He was the grandfather of Christopher, Alexa, and Liliana Tangredi; Rebecca, Tyler, and Elissa Aldrich; John Garvey, Nicholas, Dylan, and Emma Link; and Tristan and Peyton Patino. He was the brother of Raymond G. Link, Jr., of Port Charlotte, Florida, Donald Link of Wells, Maine, and Carol Link-Ude of Guilford. He was predeceased by two sisters, Marilyn Nuhn and J. Valerie Goff Hibbard.
Friends were invited to calling hours on Jan. 11 at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford. Funeral services were held Jan. 12 at Christ Episcopal Church, 11 Park St., Guilford. Burial was held privately.
