Edward R. Papagoda, 83, of East Haven passed away Dec. 2 in the VA Medical Center in West Haven. He was the beloved husband of 57 years to the late Jessie Paolillo Papagoda. He was the son of the late Ralph and Jennie Gaetano Papagoda.
Ed was the owner of Michael’s Cafe in East Haven for many years and the owner of the former Branford Exxon for 20 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was the father of Patricia (Frank) Radomski of Wallingford and Marian (Russell) Colburn of Madison. He was the grandfather of Lesley Colburn, and Richard, Steven, and David Radomski. He was the brother of Caroline D’Angelo of East Hampton and the late Ralph Papagoda, Jr., and Anthony Pappagoda.
His funeral procession left the Porto Funeral Home, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven, Dec. 7 for a Mass of Christian burial in Our Lady of Pompeii Church.
