Elizabeth “Betty” Massey Donadio of Branford died Nov. 14 at Connecticut Hospice. She was the wife of the late Frank L. Donadio, Sr. Betty was born June 23, 1920, in Hardwick, Vermont, daughter of the late Jerry and Christine Massey.
She moved from Hardwick to Branford as a teenager. During World War II she worked at Winchester’s. Betty was an excellent cook, and loved traveling around the New England states, especially to Vermont and Maine.
Her family would like to give a very special thank you to the staff at Connecticut Hospice for the care given to Betty during her final days.
She is survived by her children Frank L., Jr. (Marcia) Donadio of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, Karen (Frank) Suppe of Massachusetts, and Shirley Donadio of Branford; and her grandchildren Jodi (Ernest) Perno of Westport, Andrea (Jeffrey) Lynch, of Massachusetts, Matthew (Angela) Donadio of Pennsylvania, Laura (Joseph) Freeman of Pennsylvania, and Maria Donadio of Wisconsin. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Anna, Claire, and Raymond Lynch, Grace Donadio, and Lily Freeman; her sister Irene Morris of Branford; her brother Robert (Jean) Massey of Branford; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Clayton, Oscar, Leonard, Lawrence, Raymond, Burton, and Harold Massey, and her sisters, Dorothy Lepre and Iva Lucarelli.
Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service Nov. 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 N. Main St., Branford, and may call prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford.
