Thomas Culligan, 65, of East Haven passed away April 14 at Hospital for Special Care in New Britain. He was born Dec. 12, 1950, in New Haven to Thomas and Frances (McLaughlin) Culligan.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Janice Suscietto and Loreen Zander. Thomas is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Elizabeth (Dion) Culligan, and several nieces and nephews.
Thomas was a proud US Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient of the Vietnam War. He later worked for the US Postal Service with more than 12 years of service. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 9261-Martha’s Vineyard Post.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on April 22 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. The Funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home on April 23 at 9:45 a.m. for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Taylor Ave., East Haven. Committal and full Military Honors will follow at East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven.
