Marion Ferrara Jarmie, 88, of East Haven, beloved wife of Albert S. Jarmie Sr., passed away on Oct. 3 in Connecticut Hospice. Marion was born in New Haven on July 7, 1927, daughter of the late Ferdinand and Jennie Caprio Ferrara.
Prior to her retirement Marion worked in the finishing department for the former National Folding Box Company.
She was the loving mother of Margaret (Richard) Mingrone of Madison, Paula (Rocky) Julianelle of East Haven, Albert S. (Mary) Jarmie Jr. of Northford, and Lisa (Richard) Powers, also of Madison. She was the grandmother of Paul and Marc Mingrone; Toni Marie Julianelle; Aubrey, Connor, Logan, and the late Adam Jarmie; and Richard and Lauren Powers. She was the special aunt of Ann (John) Tortora of New Haven. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mary Ferrara, Elsie Cwiertniewicz, Amelia Ciociola, Louise Bedard, and Joseph Ferrara.
Her funeral procession left the Porto Funeral Home, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven, Oct. 7 for a Mass of Christian burial in Our Lady of Pompeii Church. Interment followed in All Saints Cemetery. Friends called Oct. 6. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
