William W. Webster, 83, of Clinton, passed away on June 30 peacefully in his sleep with his loving wife Nancy at his side. Bill was born on July 4 in New Haven to the late George and Mildred (Woodstock) Webster in 1931.
He graduated from Hamden High School and earned his degree from Princeton University in 1953. Once he fulfilled his military obligation in the US Army, he then went on to attend Stamford University. He retired from IBM, where he was a senior systems engineer. As a boy he spent his summers at this grandmother’s summer cottage on Blaisdell Point in Clinton. His passions were boating, his family, friends, and fixing things.
A gathering to remember Bill was held at Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton, on July 11, followed by a service at the funeral home. An ice cream social was held at his house on Blaisdell Point. At a later date his and Nancy’s ashes will be scattered over their salt meadow and off the coast of New England.
