Raymond A, Mitchell, 86, Guilford and Monkton, Maryland
Raymond A. Mitchell, Jr., 86, of Monkton, Maryland, and formerly of Mulberry Point, Guilford, died in Monkton April 13. He was the husband of the late Joan Bowe Mitchell. He was born on June 20, 1927, in Meriden, son of the late Raymond A. & Grace C. Mitchell.
He is survived by his son Michael C. Mitchell and his wife Stephanie of Monkton, Maryland, and Grace E. Mettler of Chincoteague, Virginia. He is predeceased by his brother and sisters H. Cashen Mitchell, Grace E. Mills, and Natalie Mitchell. He is also survived by grandchildren Samantha A. Mettler, Tyler J. Mettler, Bailey S. Mettler, and S. Tucker Mettler.
He was honorably discharged from the Navy, having served in WWII. Mr. Mitchell went on to work in the tool industry for Moore Drop Forge, New Britain Machine, Easco Hand Tool Division (president), and Ramco Sales, where he was president of the company. He enjoyed his summers in Mulberry Point on the waterfront and beach with lifelong friends and family. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on June 23 at 10 a.m. in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St., Guilford. Burial will follow Mass in St. George Cemetery, Hubbard Rd., Guilford.
