Betty Packer, a 32-year resident of Guilford, died on Aug. 8 at the age of 86. Betty was the loving support and inspiration of Leroy Packer, her husband of 66 years, and two children of whom she was a proud mom, Susan Packer of Princeton, New Jersey, and David Packer of Pound Ridge, New York. She also formed a special bond with David's wife, Tara. Betty now lives in the hearts and minds of all who experienced her love and generosity and share in an inestimable loss.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, cash and other donations may be made in Betty's honor to the Hole in the Wall, a not-for-profit consignment shop where Betty served for more than 12 years that operates for the benefit of the Guilford A Better Chance program (www.guilfordabc.org): Hole in the Wall, PO Box 140, Guilford, CT 06437.
