Mario M. Ferrari, 92, of Hamden, formerly of North Haven
Mario M. Ferrari, 92, of Hamden, formerly of Butler Road, North Haven, died on June 24 at his home. He was the husband of the late Evelyn M. Albrect Ferrari. Born in Hamden on Aug. 23, 1920, he was the son of the late Louis and Albina Cargnani Ferrari. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army Medical Corp during World War II; he was a member of the Laborers Union Local #455 since 1946 and had worked for the former American Cyadamid of Wallingford until his retirement.
Mario was a member of the North Haven Senior Center, a sports enthusiast, and enjoyed race cars. He was the grandfather of Jennifer Wertz, Tracy L. Belanger, and Jeffery Johnson, Jr., and the great-grandfather of Michael A. King, Anthony and Christopher Corsino, Kaden and Nathan Wertz, and Brianna and Dakota Hedvig. He was predeceased by his daughter Linda J. Johnson and his brothers Sylvio, Leo, and Angelo Ferrari.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, on Friday, June 28 at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Barnabas Church at 11 a.m. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
