Eva B. Conner, 93, of East Haven
Eva B. Conner, 93, of East Haven died on June 21 at CT Hospice. Born June 21, 1920 in New Haven, she was the daughter of Ernest and Jenny (Strong) Beers. Eva is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dwight E. Conner, her step-daughters Eleanor Butler and Marilyn O?Bymachow, her sisters Shirley Favreau and Alberta Stevenson, and her brother Earl Beers. Eva is survived by her children Michael Conner (Kathleen) of East Haven and Patricia Conner of East Haven; her grandsons Demion and Jason Conner; and her nephew Mark Kyder (Dana) of Killingworth.
Eva grew up in the Foxon section of East Haven. She attended local schools and was a 1938 graduate of East Haven High School. After graduation she was employed by A.C. Gilbert and then Southern Connecticut Telephone where she met her future husband. They were married in 1947 and in 1953 moved to East Haven where she resided throughout her lifetime. Eva had many hobbies - her favorites being bowling, ice skating, golf, and the love of flowers. Eva spent 30 years of bliss at J.A. Long Co. where she was known for making spectacular wedding arrangements! She was an avid traveler having taken many excursions to Newport, Cape Cod, Prince Edward Island, and Las Vegas. She was a member of the Irish American Club and Old Stone Church where she was a volunteer in the thrift shop.
Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a memorial service on Thursday, June 27 at 11 a.m. at the Old Stone Church, 251 Main Street, East Haven. Funeral in the care of Clancy Funeral Home, East Haven.
