Eleanor C. Norton, 74, Formerly of Clinton
Eleanor C. Norton, 74, of Homosassa, Fla., passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Seven Rivers Hospital, Crystal River, Fla. She was born Jan. 27, 1939, in Hartford, Conn., to the late Russell and Marion (Bigley) Chapman. Eleanor was a credit analyst for Chesebrough-Pond's, and also worked in the Clinton Schools in the Special Education Dept. She moved to Florida in 2004, coming from Clinton, Conn. and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Crystal River, Fla. Her memberships include Orange Blossom Pomona and Marion Grange No. 207 in Belleview; Order of the Eastern Star Olive Branch Lodge No. 87, Madison, Conn.; Key Training Center and The Animal Shelter and Pro-Adoption Group.
Eleanor loved to paint and decorate her home with her artwork and loved fishing and being with friends and family. She also was a great animal lover. She will be greatly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by one great-great-grandchild, Kenneth Carde. Survivors include her loving husband of 41 years, the Rev. Dr. Alan (TOM) Norton. Other survivors include three sons, Craig Norton of Homosassa, Gary Norton (Jean) of Nova Scotia and Kenny Norton of Canada; two daughters, Kimberly Langille of Nova Scotia and Kimberly Norton of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at the Indian River Cemetary in Clinton, first hill on left, second row, with her husband, the Rev. Dr. Alan (TOM) Norton officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eleanor's name to either the Key Training Center, 1625 W.
